Big Thompson’s partnership with EL Education will foster classrooms where learning is active and meaningful. We strive to elevate our instruction and learning to the next level so that our students become leaders of their own learning and accomplish more than they thought possible (as stated in EL's vision).

This is a multi-year journey for EL Education and Big Thompson.

In the 2021-2022 school year we focused on student engaged assessment (S.E.A.), a collection of practices that support students to own their learning by setting goals, reflecting on their learning and monitoring their progress.

For the 2022-2023 school year, Big Thompson will dive into developing the structure and spirit of Crew to support students developing a strong sense of belonging, purpose, and agency.

Both S.E.A. and Crew are components of EL’s Character Framework that holds at the heart that students will “contribute to a better world.”
